This time we had planned a weekend session and due to last minute unforeseen circumstances, we ended up doing a totally improvised session because due to lack of time we couldn’t prepare it better. The model was Carla, my lifelong model, with whom after 9 years, working is as easy as it is fun, and with whom I can improvise as often as necessary, as we have seen eachother thousands of times in similar circumstances and her ability to react and versatility are outstanding. So on this occasion we decided to go to take pictures in the mountains without really knowing where.
As a starting point we chose a hotel in the Terradets reservoir near Tremp in Lleida (Spain) where we arrived on Friday night after telling each other a thousand little stories during the trip and from there we would decide on the fly what we were going to do.
Early in the morning we were able to enjoy beautiful views of the reservoir, and a road that winds along the water, which is a pleasure to drive along. This road led us to a shore where there is a small sandy “beach” where the views were very nice.
After recording panoramic views of the surroundings, at mid-morning we went to another reservoir nearby, Montrebei, where we had already been kayaking some months before.
We recorded and photographed panoramic views of the reservoir and the access roads, some of them very beautiful, and above all we could see the huge difference between the level of the reservoir as it was this time and how it had been the day we had gone kayaking a few months before or when we went looking for the locations the first time.
Here you have the three pictures where you can see the big difference in the different times.
After recording numerous resources and videos for the social networks, at the end of the day we headed towards the Vall d’Aran, but that’s another video, which you can see in an other blog post.
As it was such an improvised session, we planned it as something quiet in which we were going to try to do what we could without any other pretensions. That gave us time for Carla to learn how to use some of the video equipment.
