As we told you in the blog post about the search for mountain locations, during the month of August it is quite difficult to find models who can work because they are all gone for the holidays. That’s why it’s the ideal time to go location scouting by taking a slightly longer trip than usual.
In this video we headed to the north of Spain, to the coastal area of Cantabria and Asturias.

We also mentioned that we spent a week travelling around different areas in the north of Spain, both on the coast and in the mountains, looking for beautiful locations to shoot in different natural environments over the coming months. In this video you can see some of the landscapes that left us jaw-droped.

Paradisiacal beaches absolutely deserted with no sign of man’s presence, no buildings or rubbish, tremendously clean. A landscape of difficult access, changing with the rhythm of the tides, which allowed us to enter with the water around our ankles and leave with the water around our necks, having to save our equipment by carrying it over our heads.

The beach area was the first thing we thought of when planning the trip, and the first place we went to. But as usual, when we arrived, the weather was not on our side. Clouds, fog, rough sea… during the first days of the trip, it didn’t look like the weather was going to change and we decided to go further south, inland, where the weather was sunny. After several days of shooting videos in the mountains, we tried the coast again and this time, and only for two days, the sky was clear and the sea extraordinarily calm. This last fact, according to local people, is unusual.

On the first of those two sunny days, we arrived at the first beaches at low tide, and the sea was exceptionally calm. To enter one of them, as I said before, we had to cross a small stretch with the sea water reaching ankle height. Once on the beach, which was enormous, we were able to film without anyone appearing for hours in absolute peace and quiet. It seemed like we were in another world. Few places have had such an impact on me personally.

As the tide came in, the landscape kept changing. I went crazy taking photos and recording videos. Every hour, I realised that the landscape had changed, and I photographed it again.

It is always amazing to see how much the landscape changes depending on the light, and in this case the tide. Depending on the time of day, the surroundings went from stunning and beautiful to indescribable.

During the two days of good weather, we went from one beach to another, spending the whole morning shooting and taking photos on one of them, and during the afternoon on another, depending on the orientation of the sun. At the same time, we were thinking about what stock photos could be taken and where, for future sessions, as I remind you that the ultimate goal of this trip was to find natural scenery where we could do sessions later on.

It was all so idyllic that, although the water was a bit cold at times, as the tides alternate cold and warm currents, it was impossible to resist taking a dip.

While we were there, we also took the opportunity to take some stock photos, both in and out of the water, to see how the lights looked on a person.

These beaches are also perfectly oriented with respect to the path of the sun, which made the shots even more spectacular. This, together with their rare beauty, makes them ideal for the photo shoots we are planning to do there.
As there were so many beautiful shots, we had to split the video of the beaches into 2 separate ones. The first one is this one, and the next one will be uploaded soon.

We hope you enjoy the images.
