At the beginning of September, we decided to go out for a weekend shooting with Carla, our lifelong model, to one of the most beautiful waterfalls we have in Catalonia, in the Vall d’Aran.

We did an improvised session due to last minute problems, and at the same time, we took the opportunity to test some of the new video equipment we had acquired, to set it up and get to know it well.

During the days of the session, we worked on different things at the same time. On the one hand, we recorded the Making of, meanwhile we took stock photos of different content, avoiding resemblance between photos so that the agencies wouldn’t reject the photos due to similar content. We are also constantly moving from one place to another, to take photos in different locations, generally with little time to spare. We also depend on the weather, which is rarely on our side.

For all these reasons, our pace is often frenetic, and knowing the video and photographic equipment is absolutely necessary to avoid wasting time in the sessions.

On this occasion, we set off on a Friday, and along the way, while testing the video equipment and taking stock photos and making of, we recorded various shots of the locations where we were. As a result, we were able to create several landscape videos. One of them, which was made while we were taking the stock photos in the mountains of the Vall d’Aran, is the one you will find at the end of this post.

To get to these places we had to access by a path full of stones, where the van, which was fully loaded with photography and video equipment, suffered a lot. I must admit that for more than 2 hours I suffered a lot, fearing that the vibrations would damage some of the video and photo equipment, but it was clear to me that with those landscapes to discover we had to get to the top and make the recordings.

Fortunately, none of the equipment suffered any damage and we were able to do the session without any problems in a beautiful and absolutely relaxing natural environment, where we didn’t come across anyone for hours.

This is something to be grateful for in this job and even more so in the holiday season, as one of the main problems in the sessions is that there are always people who pass behind the model without noticing, and waiting until the background is free and there are no people behind, entails a significant loss of time. However, this was not the case this weekend.
